A lovely pair of vintage oils on canvas by New Orleans artist John Reed Campbell (1923 -1997). Campbell was a noted local portraitist and nationally known painter of landscapes, figure studies and Western scenes. He studied art at LSU and several art schools, studied in Paris and NYC, painting in the Old Master style under several leading tutors. Campbell was selected to do a portarit of Eisenhower, which now hangs in the Eisnhower Library. A prominent artist with art displayed nationally, he was also a teacher and founder of the Art Students League in New Orleans. Countless copies and prints have been made of his work, but these are original and custom framed in gorgeous wood frames. Price is for both.
